It forms part of the outer western corridor of Durban, characterised by residential areas, light industrial zones, and proximity to major nodes like Pinetown and Kloof.; instead, prominent nodes closest to Wyebank include Pinetown, New Germany, and Kloof. The larger Durban area is limited by travelling distances and population spread. The area functions as a prominent node/service centre with amenities – Wyebank Node.
The projected 2026 catchment area demographics warrant an estimated total of 10000 – 15000 m² GLA retail demand for a formal retail centre in the catchment. The proposed site is well located relative to the retail facilities and good synergy provided by nearby centres like Pine Crest. The site is also located central to the high-density areas within the catchment.
